"Hele Mei Hoohiwahiwa" (Come celebrate).
While planning one of the most important days of your life, you will feel more comfortable knowing the person you have chosen to help you create just what you want for your Wedding day. This special day in Hawai'i should be simple and with no stress. It is time to celebrate a very heartfelt and meaningful experience!!
Let me tell you a little bit about myself. My name is Cheryl Pascual. I moved to the islands in 1966 from Los Angeles. I had gone to college for 2 years and upon returning home that summer, my folks asked me if I wanted to go back to college or move with them to Hawai'i. At 20 years old it was NOT a hard decision!! :>)
Waikiki in the 1960's was quite incredible. The Vietnam War was happening and I was working in the International Market Place at an ice cream & sandwich shop! The entire middle of the Market Place was all grass and they used to show "surfing" movies every night. It is now no longer even there :<(. I made friends with many of the military guys visiting Hawai'i on R&R and would take them home for a delicious home cooked meal by my Mom!! They loved it!! My folks left after a year and I said, I’m not ready to leave yet, so I stayed!!! Little did I know at that time, I’d stay forever!!!
In 1969, I started flying for Aloha Airlines and got to know all the islands much better. That was the year the "737" was introduced! But I was flying the Viscount 4-engine plane, 47 passengers and only one flight attendant! I was paid $295 a month, if you can believe it!!
Wanting to travel, I left the islands many times in the 70's. I hitchhiked through Europe for a year. I went over with $500 and a one way ticket!!! I spent 2 winters in Sun Valley Idaho to ski; worked at Charley Brown’s in Marina del Rey and in 1976 it was Australia for a year. It was all wonderful to see the world but I kept returning to my beloved islands.
In 1980, while working at the Moana Hotel on Waikiki Beach, I met my husband "Pas". He was from the Big Island and we fell madly in love and still are!!! :>) In 1982 we moved back "home" to the Big Island, where he was born & raised! We were married on the 4th of July 1986 and have had a wonderful life living here. We have always had a huge love of animals and as you can see, we have many. At this time (and it changes), we have 9 dogs. They are all rescue dogs and we LOVE helping with animals any way we can. We own 10 horses and have 6 on our property now (some Pas is training). Our other horses are at different areas nearby, on the island. For 14 years I have also taken care of stray cats that live behind the post office in our little town of Paauilo!! We feed the wild pigs, birds, & turkeys that visit us often!!!
We encourage couples to come by our place, maybe have a BBQ with us and receive any dog and horse energy cuz I know you are missing your animals while visiting Hawaii. Pas is a "Paniolo", a Hawaiian cowboy. During the day he trains horses and rustles cattle. He has earned the name "THE HORSE WHISPER"!! He is also a Hawaiian musician. You’d love to have the "Hawaiian Wedding Song" played as you walk down at your ceremony or "Somewhere over the Rainbow". It’s wonderful for him to play Hawaiian music for your guests while you are having photos taken. He can play many different types of music, not just Hawaiian, but it’s nice to have Hawaiian Music while in Hawaii!
I have been in the wedding business since 1989. In 1995 I became an ordained minister. I have been so very fortunate to have found a profession I LOVE! Being on the beach at sunset, with couples in love, in Hawaii, it just doesn’t get any better!!!! Meeting, marrying and becoming close to so many wonderful couples is the ULTIMATE!!!! I absolutely LOVE to help each couple create just what they want for their wedding day and then also, to help them plan what to see and do while on our beautiful island.
I hope you now know me a little better and would feel comfortable with me to be a part of your most important day!!! I am here to answer any questions or do whatever I can for you, so give me a call and let’s create your FABULOUS WEDDING DAY!!!!
Mahalo and Aloha from Cheryl
